Electro-Harmonix announces the introduction of an Expression Pedal featuring the company’s advanced polymer construction that yields roadworthy pedals with a significant weight savings.
The EHX Expression, single-output pedal, is affordable and versatile enough to control virtually any device with an EXP input. The pedal’s sweep can be fine tuned with the range knob while its sweep direction can be flipped with the reverse button. It comes with a six foot TRS cable.
Electro-Harmonix announces the Platform pedal, a fully-featured stereo compressor/limiter that also includes an overdrive section and volume swell function. EHX Founder, Mike Matthews, stated: “The Platform is powerful for studio or post production work, yet compact enough to take to a gig.”
The Platform’s compressor/limiter enables the user to precisely tune their instrument’s dynamics and provides controls for Volume, Attack, Release and Sustain plus pushbuttons for Hard or Soft Knee and the Limiter. Its foot-switchable overdrive section adds to the pedal’s versatility with dedicated controls for Volume, Tone and Drive. (Volume) swell is controlled by a dedicated knob. As it’s turned clockwise swell increases from zero and notes fade in more gradually.
The Platform is equipped for true stereo operation and can be used as Mono In and Out, Mono In and Stereo Out, or Stereo In and Stereo Out. The pedal includes a three color, bar graph, LED array with eight LEDs that display the compressor’s actual gain reduction in real-time; they act in opposite to a VU meter. The Platform Stereo Compressor/Limiter comes with an EHX9.6-200mA power supply.
Electro-Harmonix introduces the Tone Corset analog compressor, a compact OTA (Operational Transconductance Amplifier) compressor with an organic quality that works especially well with guitar.
The Tone Corset’s four-knob design provides excellent control and gives the user the ability to precisely shape their instrument’s dynamics. Compression effects ranging from subtle to extreme and all points in between are possible.
The pedal’s Sustain knob controls the amount of compression applied to the guitar signal. The Attack knob adjusts how quickly the compressor recovers. As Attack is turned clockwise the pedal’s response is slower and more initial pick attack comes thru. The Blend knobs adjusts the mix of the dry and compressed signals. By blending both the player can achieve a sound where the dry signal allows the natural pick attack to come thru while the compressed side turns up the volume as the note decays. Volume adjusts the overall output level of the effect. A Pad switch pads down the input signal to prevent undesirable distortion when the pedal is used with high output humbuckers, bass guitar, etc.
The Tone Corset features True Bypass switching to ensure maximum signal path integrity and comes with a 9 Volt battery.
